Orthodontist, Day 5: The Bottom Braces

Well, today I got the bottom braces on. It feels a bit uncomfortable, and I can’t lick food out from the bottom of my mouth because my tongue gets stabbed (ow). I have blue ones again, and they look pretty darn beastly. My mouth is really achy already. I had to brush McDonalds out of my teeth, and it seriously hurt. My gums are really irritated right now (and I don’t blame them. They have to be really annoyed).

When we got to the orthodontist place, there was a cute little boy running around, and he seemed to really like the trashcan by the door. There weren’t any creeps in the waiting room (except for the man with the purple shirt. Not sure if my Mom saw him). The nice lady took me back (as always) and I had to brush my teeth with the disgusting silver stuff AGAIN. I managed to sit down in the right chair, and she got to work on my teeth.

She tightened my top braces (I could tell she was having trouble getting the wire off of the brackets) and stuck the cotton in my mouth. Then she rubbed several different products on my teeth, like she did with the top ones. She kept blowing air onto my teeth, which really made me feel weird. I can’t describe the feeling I had in my mouth. Finally she had Dr. Cryder come over and he set to work on putting the braces on. While he was doing so, they started having a conversation about “coupons”. I didn’t understand half of what they were saying, but I did catch a few things…

“Did you get the coupons?” Dr. Cryder asked.
“No, the company isn’t selling them anymore.”
(Didn’t catch what he said next)
“Cant we use the ones we have?”
“I don’t know if Marie brought them down. I’ll have to check later.”

I am very bad at biting down for long periods of time. I kept spacing out while staring at the lights on the ceiling, and once or twice forgot to keep my mouth shut. When he was done, it was really awkward because the nice lady and me had to sit there for five minutes with nothing to say (alright, I need to learn her name). She DID end up going to get something once or twice. Luckily I managed to focus on how annoying the new braces felt.

Anyway, she tightened the headgear and sent me back to my Mom. We also went to see Up today, and on Wednesday were off to Wisconsin until Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully that will be fun.
